1. From deko-ru, a verb made up by Japanese youngsters. It refers to decorating anything small — from mobile phone to stationery, hand mirrors, and earphones — with brilliant ornaments.
2. This art form seems to have started with mobile phone painting, using nail polish. Now, it is practiced by professional nail artists as well as amateur hobbyists.
3. Rhinestones and stickers are commonly used decorative “parts” as in nail art. However, some fanatics even use miniature items, including food models.
