IS JAPAN COOL? DISCOVER
1. A glass of chilled coffee normally expected to be served hot.
2. Though iced coffee may not be popular overseas, Japanese cafés generally give you a choice of “hot” or “iced” coffee.
3. You can add cream, condensed milk, etc. and/or gomme syrup to suit your taste. “Coffee float” is topped with vanilla ice cream as a deluxe alternative to milk.
4. Some cafés serve chilled coffee with coffee ice cubes rather than water ice cubes, which tend to dilute coffee flavor as they melt.
5. If you order iced coffee in Osaka, remember to ask for it as “ reikoh” (the short name there).
