Sae Takasugi

Owner of boco

Toybox kawaii shop shows people power.

Clothes, accessories, and household items with one-of-a-kind design. A shop named boco is amusingly like a toybox turned inside out. It’s filled with items that stimulate its visitors to impulsively pick something up and exclaim, “What on earth is this?” Ms. Takasugi, owner of boco, explains the secret of selecting goods for her shop: “Whenever I find them, I’m always tempted to introduce items with rare color combinations and designs that stimulate my mind and excite me.” On this occasion, she has set up displays with the styling theme, “Be active, be colorful, even in winter!” She continues, “Small items like accessories, shoes, tights, etc., are distinctive and can be used as effective accents to outfits. Customers are captivated by these kawaii goods and I can just let the products speak for themselves. I choose items that have the power to make people happy!”
