Introducing Japan’s latest arts to the world.

Shojono Tomo is a conceptual artist in the medium of costume production, and Caro is a producer who introduces Japanese artists to the world. Their activities are attracting increasing attention in Japan and worldwide as Shojono Tomo fashion items become popular, due to the growing patronage of celebrities like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and many other artists among Japan’s latest kawaii icons. Shojono Tomo says, “For me, kawaii can be as useful as a car or as useless as the calyx of an eggplant. It isn’t intentional but simply looks adorable. I’d like to express such things through my art.” Caro says, “Kawaii culture is flourishing in many parts of the world. Kawaii just might be a way to escape from reality.”
