Kagoshima Airport is north of Kagoshima City. 40 minutes away by car, this international airport handles departures and landings by both domestic and global airlines. In addition to flights to and from major domestic airports such as Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Okinawa, one can also leave from here for Korea, China and Taiwan. You can also catch flights to some of Kyushu’s outlying islands, including Amami Oshima, Tanegashima, Yakushima, and Yoronjima.
